CERC promulgated an order permitting APTRANSCO to claim additional Rs.114 Crs towards Yearly Transmission charges

Sri.K.Vijayanand, IAS, Special Chief Secretary Energy and CMD/APTRANSCO has revealed that Hon’ble Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) had promulgated an order in Petition No.10/TT/2019 on 21-06-23 permitting APTRANSCO to claim additional Rs.114 Crs from the inter-state utilities towards Yearly Transmission charges for APTRANSCO owned 40 Nos. inter-state transmission lines in between Andhra Pradesh & neighboring States.

APTRANSCO had filed a Petition before CERC, New Delhi for determination of Yearly Transmission charges for 40 Nos. inter-state transmission lines in between Andhra Pradesh & neighboring States for the period from Financial Year (FY) 2014-15 to FY 2018-19 as per CERC’s Regulations of Sharing of charges & losses of Inter-State Transmission lines.

Initially, the Hon’ble CERC had issued Tariff order for (FY) 2016-17 to 2018-19 only, refusing to determine Tariff for FY2014-16. APTRANSCO has approached APTEL (Appellate Tribunal for Electricity), New Delhi vide DFR 378 of 2021 and APTEL has directed CERC to consider for determination of Transmission charges for FY2014-16 also.

In pursuant to the orders of APTEL, New Delhi, after due regulatory process, the Hon’ble CERC had promulgated the orders in Petition No.10TT/2019 on 21-06-23 permitting APTRANSCO to claim additional Rs.114 Crs from the inter-state utilities towards Transmission charges for AP owned 40 Nos. inter-state transmission lines in between AP & neighboring States.
APTRANSCO has to get these charges from other neighborhoods states for using APTRANSCO lines for flow of power to their states.

Special Chief Secretary Energy and CMD APTRANSCO Sri.K Vijayanand have appreciated the efforts of Joint Managing Director APTRANSCO Sri.K.V.N Chakradhar Babu and team that helped for the orders to claim additional Rs.114 Crs to APTRANSCO.
