Hyderabad, Neti Patrika Prajavartha :
As part of India’s commitment to doubling the global annual rate of energy efficiency improvement—from just over 2% to more than 4% by 2030—aligned with the Net-Zero goals endorsed at COP28, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of Central PSUs under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, is set to showcase India’s success stories in energy efficiency at Indian Energy Week (IEW) 2026, to be held from January 27–30, 2026, in Goa.
Indian Energy Week 2026 will open the global energy calendar as the first major international energy summit of the year, bringing together the world’s most influential voices across policy, industry, finance, technology, and media. The event will host over 75,000 professionals, 700+ exhibitors, 6,500+ delegates, and 550+ speakers from more than 120 countries, making it one of the most consequential energy convening worldwide under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India.
IEW has emerged as an agenda-setting platform shaping global discourse on energy security, affordability, sustainability, digitalisation, and artificial intelligence (AI). The summit convenes governments, multilateral institutions, utilities, investors, and technology leaders at a scale that enables dialogue to translate into outcomes—facilitating policy–industry partnerships, investment signals, and technology diffusion at a critical moment for the global energy transition.
The Ministry of Power (MOP) Pavilion at IEW 2026 will spotlight India’s leadership across smart grids, pumped storage, AI-enabled operations, cybersecurity, regulatory reforms, and energy efficiency.
EESL, along with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), will anchor the Energy Efficiency and Carbon Markets tracks within the pavilion. EESL has been officially invited by the Ministry of Power to exhibit and contribute to technical sessions, highlighting India’s innovation-led and citizen-centric energy efficiency transition to a global audience.
International bodies including the International Energy Agency (IEA), IRENA, and the COP28 Presidency have called for doubling the global annual rate of energy efficiency improvement to keep the 1.5°C climate goal within reach. This ambition is reinforced through the Global Renewables and Energy Efficiency Pledge and G20-led initiatives promoting policy and finance across buildings, industry, and transport.
Media Takeaway: IEW 2026 is not just an exhibition—it is the year’s first global checkpoint for policy alignment, investment mobilisation, and technology partnerships to accelerate efficiency-driven, inclusive, and climate-aligned growth. According to Akhilesh Kumar Dixit CEO EESL who is going to make a Prestigious Power Point Presentation during IEW 2026 informed that EESL continues to pioneer large-scale market transformation through aggregation, innovative financing (ESCO models), and demand creation. At IEW 2026, EESL will lead the energy efficiency segment at the Ministry of Power Pavilion, presenting solutions that translate technical efficiency into everyday benefits for citizens, cities, villages, and enterprises.

Key Focus Areas Include:
Super-Efficient Appliances & Public Infrastructure:
LED lighting, efficient cooling and heating solutions, and connected controls for homes, offices, and municipalities—demonstrating immediate financial and energy paybacks.
Clean Cooking & Efficient Heating:
Promotion of electric and induction cooking under the National Efficient Cooking Programme (NECP) and efficient heating solutions for cold regions—linking public health, gender equity, and affordability with climate action.
E-Bicycles:
Affordable, zero-emission mobility solutions for urban and semi-urban areas, reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

Stakeholder Engagement Platform
For Citizens and MSMEs: Immersive demonstrations, impact dashboards, and Total Cost of Ownership explainers to convert awareness into confident adoption.
For State Utilities & Urban Bodies: Real-world use cases—smart street lighting, smart metering, BEE star-rated appliance retrofits, and public building upgrades—showcasing cash-flow-positive reform pathways.
For Investors & Media: Scaled deployments with clear monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV), making efficiency projects bankable and globally relevant.
The IEA roadmap highlights three levers to achieve the “double efficiency” target:
Fuel switching and electrification (EVs, clean cooking, heat pumps), Technical efficiency (appliances, buildings, and industry), Avoided demand and behaviour change

Several states including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Odisha, and Karnataka—have played a pivotal role in accelerating energy efficiency adoption.
At IEW 2026, EESL’s energy efficiency showcase will educate mass markets on day-to-day benefits, build awareness of lifecycle savings, and catalyse global partnerships—helping India and the world move toward annual efficiency improvements exceeding 4% by 2030.
Spotlight on Telangana:
Under SLNP program, State Telangana has installed approximately 17.33 Lac LED Streetlights, achieving energy savings of 1160 million kWh and monetary savings of around 696 crore, contributing significantly to national savings of 9,001 million kWh and 6300 crore.

Under UJALA program, State Telangana has distributed approximately 28.75 Lac LED bulbs, achieving energy savings of 374 million kWh and monetary savings of around 149 crore, contributing significantly to national savings of 47,882 million kWh and 19,153 crore.
