Highlighting the state’s renewed commitment to energy efficiency and green infrastructure, APTDC will on June 27 sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL)—a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of Central PSUs under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The MoU facilitates the setting up of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) and Battery Swapping Stations (BSS) across major cities, highway corridors, and tourist hotspots in Andhra Pradesh.
This initiative follows the successful implementation of Indo-Swiss building technologies, a Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) initiative that has demonstrated a 2°C temperature reduction inside homes, with large-scale pilot projects already underway in coordination with the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM).
Special Chief Secretary for Housing and Tourism, Ajay Jain, who also heads APTDC, said: “With Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu setting an ambitious 20% growth target for the tourism sector, we are planning to attract ₹25,000 crore worth of investments over the next four years.

The introduction of energy-efficient tourism infrastructure and large-scale EV deployment will help us to meet the vision.” Of the Chief Minister,he said
As part of the conclave, APTDC is also set to sign over 50 MoUs with leading national and international investors across various tourism verticals—ranging from hospitality and adventure sports to cruises and homestays.
The investment commitments under these MoUs amount to ₹10,039 crore, which will:
* Create 24,780 direct and indirect jobs statewide.
* Add 7,509 hotel room keys, significantly expanding accommodation capacity.
* Catalyze growth in niche segments such as water sports, eco-tourism, and rural homestays.
The Tourism Tech AI 2.0 Conclave will feature panel discussions on strategic areas including the Creative Economy, Tourism Products & Projects, Investments, Capacity Building, Branding & Communications, and Technology in Tourism. Top tourism professionals, developers, tech innovators, and investors are expected to contribute insights into building a forward-looking tourism ecosystem.
The conclave and MoUs are being held in the backdrop of Andhra Pradesh’s recently launched Tourism Policy 2024–29, which offers a compelling incentive structure for investors:
* 100% reimbursement of stamp and transfer duties and waiver on land conversion charges.
* For MSMEs, reimbursement of up to ₹2 lakh for national and ₹10 lakh for international quality certifications.
* Capital subsidies of up to 25% of Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) for MSMEs (with slabs at ₹25 lakh/₹1.5 crore/₹7.5 crore), and 5–10% for large, mega, and ultra-mega projects.
* Special subsidies for women, SC/ST, and disabled entrepreneurs—an additional 5% subsidy up to ₹10 lakh.
