Korean MSME industry shows readiness to invest in AP by tapping various MSME sectors namelyAgri-tech, Agri Machinery, Food Processing, Automobiles, Bio-tech, Pharma and Electronics

A delegation from South Korea led by Mr. Calvin Seungwon Yi, CEO, Wevio Global, Inc. met with Shri Kondapalli Srinivas, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty and NRI Empowerment and Relations, Government of Andhra Pradesh and senior officials Dr SreedharCherukuri IAS, Director of Industries, Commerce and Export Promotion and Shri Abhishikth Kishore IAS, VC & MD – APIIC to discuss the prospects of Korean Companies investments in various sectors of MSMEs in Andhra Pradesh.
The Korean Team held discussions for setting-up of technology business incubation centers and having an institutional engagement in agri tech, in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The deliberations primarily focused on WEVIO Global – Koreacollaboration with GoAP for boosting investments in Agri-tech, Food Processing, Aqua, Bio-tech, Pharma and Electronics MSMEsand to strategically partner for soft landing and scaling-up of Korean companies in the state.
Speaking at the occasion,Dr.SreedharCherukuri highlighted the State’s enabling and hassle-free business environment for the investors. He mentioned about the development of new product-based MSME Clusters and the conversion of existing 28 dedicated MSME clusters/ parks across 7 districts, to product-specific clusters with technology and expert interventions. The discussion progressed by stressing upon the focus on MSME segment, private participation in the development of MSME Parks and the home-to-home survey that is being carried by GoAP for understanding the micro business entrepreneurs and their challenges.
Addressing the delegation, Shri Kondapalli Srinivas, MSME, SERP and NRI Empowerment and Relations who chaired the meeting spoke about the micro-level industries and the RAMP programme being implemented at state level to enhance the performance of MSMEs by promoting technology upgradation, innovation, digitization, market access, credit, greening initiatives, etc.
Mr. Calvin Seungwon Yi, CEO, Wevio Global, Inc.,spoke about the Korean Technology commercialization in MSMEs and how the Korean Government is spending huge amount of its GDP towards R&D and tech interventions in India.
Taking the deliberations forward, Shri M. Abhishikth Kishore I.A.S.stated that the Flatted Factory Complexes, Ready-built Factory Sheds and the Plug & Play Complexes available in the state under Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), enable the entrepreneurs and especially the global investors to set-up their shops readily in the state.
