The Andhra Pradesh power utilities always strive for the development of State and welfare of people of the State by ensuring adequate, reliable and highest quality power supply and best consumer services to all categories of consumers, said Secretary for Energy, Srikant Nagulapalli.
Speaking on the occasion of the National Constitution Day celebrations at Vidyut Soudha on Friday, the energy secretary said that Bharat Ratna Dr.B.RAmbedkar provided the best constitution to our Nation in the world.The Preamble of the Constitution declares India as a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic and aims to secure justice, liberty, equality to all citizens and promote fraternity to maintain unity and integrity of the nation. Liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship is our values and the rights of citizens under the Constitution must always be upheld responsibly, he said.

He has appreciated the APSPDCL which have put all out efforts and restored the power to normalcy within a record period during the recent floods in Chittoor, Kadapa, Ananthapur and Nellore said, Secretary Energy. He further complemented Chairman & Managing Director/APSPDCL, H Haranatha Rao and his team for their round the clock efforts during floods.
He thanked the Chief Minister Y S JaganMohan Reddy and Energy Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy for their continuous monitoring of restoration works and their support that helped the utilities to carry out power rectification works despite severe constraints in the field such as waterreceding in the affected areas, collapse of lines , poles etc. . The DISCOMs have once again showntheir mettle in restoring the power.
The loss of damage was assessed to be Rs. 1913 Lakhs. APSPDCL was successful in rectifying the affected EHT Substations, 33KV Sub stations and 33 KV feeders.. Around 284 special teams were arranged to carry out the rectification works. As per APSPDCL, 100 per cent rectification works are completed.
