The 20708/20707 Secunderabad- Visakhapatnam- SecunderabadVande Bharat Express has been provided with an additional stoppage at Eluru Railway Station starting from today. Putta Mahesh Kumar, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (L.S), Eluru, inaugurated the provisional stoppage as Chief Guest and flagged off the 20708 Visakhapatnam – Secunderabad Vande Bharat train at Eluru Railway Station today i.e., 25th August, 2024.

Kolusu Parthasarathy, Hon’ble Minister for Housing & I& PR,  Badeti Radha Krishnayya, Hon’ble MLA Eluru, Chintamaneni Prabhakar, MLA Dendulur, Songa Roshan Kumar, Hon’ble, MLA Chintalapudi, Ganne Veeranjaneyulu, TDP District President, Eluru along with scores of people attended the event at Eluru

At the outset, P.E. Edwin, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), Infrastructure, and team of Railway Officials welcomed the Hon’ble Minister, MP and MLA’s and other political dignitaries.

Interacting with the media, MP Putta Mahesh Kumar thanked the Railway Ministry for providing the additional stoppage at Eluru. MP stated that T.no 20708/07 Vande Bharat Express was flagged off by PM virtually on 12.03.2024, and has been a major hit, especially among techies working in Hyderabad, with its premium onboard services and lesser travel time. The train has seen a patronage of 146% with a heavy waiting list. Putta Mahesh Kumar further said that basing on our representation and popular demand, the Railway Ministry decided to extend Vande Bharat services to Eluru District, enhancing connectivity to Telangana State capital and Vizag.

Kolusu Parthasarathy, Hon’ble Minister expressed immense happiness over the additional stoppage provision. Interacting with media, Minister stated that this Stoppage would immensely benefit the public of Eluru District and more railway development projects are in pipeline.

After interacting with Media, public representatives, massive crowd and media personnel welcomed the Vande Bharat withy thundering reception. The train was flagged off by the Public Representatives and huge gathering of 1000 people with slogans of “Jai Vande Bharat”. After the flagging off ceremony Putta Mahesh Kumar, Hon’ble MP & Songa Roshan Kumar, Hon’ble, MLA boarded the Vande Bharat and traveled from Eluru to Vijayawada, interacting with passengers and obtaining feedback. They distributed sweets to the Railway & travelling public onboard.

The ticket cost from Eluru to Secunderabad is ₹1060, and to Vizag is ₹960. Shri P.E. Edwin stated that passengers can reach Secunderabad and Vizag in just 5 hours 20 minutes and 3 hours 20 minutes, respectively, with punctuality being a highlight.

T Suresh, Sr DEE, Maintenance, Sathya Swaroop, Sr DOM, General,P. Satish , Sr.DSTE,. Md. Alikhan, DCM, Vijayawada, Other Railway Officials and staff took part in the event at Railway Station.
