Amaravati, Neti Patrika Prajavartha :
Dr. Tarun Kakani, a dynamic entrepreneur-turned-public figure, has emerged as a committed advocate for Amaravati and its stakeholders, drawing inspiration from his political idol Kakani Venkataratnam, revered for his leadership during the Jai Andhra Movement.
During the 2019 Amaravati capital movement, Dr. Tarun stood shoulder-to-shoulder with farmers and women, actively supporting their cause at a crucial juncture. Despite his background in business, he demonstrated unwavering resolve in championing public interests and regional development.
In a pioneering initiative, Dr. Tarun became the first individual in the state to establish a venture under the banner of “Amaravati Boating Club,” aimed at promoting Amaravati as a global tourism destination. His efforts were directed toward enhancing visibility for the capital region and attracting both domestic and international visitors.
He also contributed to the widely supported “My Brick – My Amaravati” campaign, symbolizing citizen participation in capital construction. As the founding Chairman of the Amaravati Chapter of CII Young Indians, he launched the impactful “Mana Amaravati – Mana Rajadhani” campaign, mobilizing public awareness and strengthening support for Amaravati.
With Amaravati now officially declared the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Tarun welcomed the decision, stating that it will restore investor confidence and accelerate structured, sustainable development. He envisions Amaravati as a future-ready capital integrating green, brown, and blue infrastructure—positioning it as a hub for tourism, innovation, and economic growth.
Beyond public advocacy, Dr. Tarun has actively contributed to the startup ecosystem through his firm, Glocal Technology Solutions, supporting early-stage ventures and fostering entrepreneurship in the region.
Earlier, he demonstrated grassroots leadership by adopting his native village Marribandam in the erstwhile Krishna district, transforming it into one of the first Open Defecation Free (ODF) villages in the state. The initiative earned recognition as a Best Smart Village Partner from the government.
His contributions received national recognition when he was honored as a “Champion of Change” by NITI Aayog and the Prime Minister’s Office, with the award presented by Narendra Modi.
In 2024, Dr. Tarun Kakani joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with a commitment to strengthening grassroots engagement and inspiring youth participation in politics.
Dr. Tarun Kakani’s journey reflects a blend of entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and political vision—focused on inclusive development, innovation, and the long-term growth of Andhra Pradesh.
