-Overseas buyers and local enterprises commend Andhra Pradesh Government’s initiative to provide global market access to MSMEs
Visakhapatnam, Neti Patrika Prajavartha :
The three-day International Reverse Buyer–Seller Meet (RBSM), organised jointly by the Andhra Pradesh MSME Development Corporation (AP MSMEDC) and the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme, concluded successfully today in Visakhapatnam.
Held from 19 to 21 August 2026, the programme brought together more than 40 overseas buyers from 25 countries and over 250 MSMEs from across Andhra Pradesh for structured one-to-one business meetings. The event generated strong commercial interest, resulting in the signing of 88 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). Several other business discussions are at various stages of negotiation and are expected to translate into export orders following product evaluation, sample approval and commercial follow-up.
The valedictory session was addressed by Sri Tammi Reddy Siva Sankara Rao, Chairman, AP MSME Development Corporation; Mr. Sudhakar, Executive Director, AP MSME DC; and Shri K. Unnikrishnan, Joint Director General, FIEO. The validatory session witnessed the exchange of MoUs between overseas buyers and participating MSMEs. The Chairman, AP MSME DC further interacted with buyers and sellers to understand their experiences and future business prospects.
Addressing the session, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of sustained market-access initiatives in enabling MSMEs to understand international market requirements, improve product and packaging standards, establish direct connections with overseas buyers and become part of global value chains. Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Andhra Pradesh to
strengthening the competitiveness and export readiness of MSMEs under the RAMP Scheme.
Overseas buyers appreciated the diversity and quality of products presented by Andhra Pradesh enterprises. They expressed interest in continuing discussions with shortlisted suppliers and exploring long-term sourcing partnerships. Participating sellers also welcomed the opportunity to engage directly with international buyers, understand country-specific requirements and receive
valuable feedback on pricing, quality, certification, packaging and delivery expectations.
Both buyers and sellers praised the Government of Andhra Pradesh for organising the RBSM and creating a focused platform that provided MSMEs with direct access to international markets. They observed that such initiatives substantially reduce the challenges faced by smaller enterprises in identifying and connecting with genuine overseas buyers.
Shri K. Unnikrishnan, Joint Director General, FIEO, emphasised that the signing of MoUs marked the beginning of the business-engagement process. He urged buyers and sellers to maintain regular communication, promptly exchange product specifications and samples, and work towards converting commercially viable discussions into firm export orders. He added that FIEO would undertake systematic post-event follow-up to facilitate business conversion and support procedural or market-related issues wherever required.
The participating MSMEs represented a diverse range of sectors, including agricultural and processed food products, spices, rice, marine products, food ingredients, textiles, chemicals, engineering products and other value-added goods.
The successful conclusion of the RBSM reinforces Andhra Pradesh’s efforts to promote entrepreneurship, enhance MSME competitiveness, improve international market linkages and support sustainable growth in the State’s exports.
