Governor Abdul Nazeer presents Red Cross awards

Governor of Andhra Pradesh and President of Indian Red Cross society, AP State Branch, has participated in the Annual General meeting of the Red Cross held at Thummalapalli Kshetrayya Kalakshetram here on Wednesday .

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sri Abdul Nazeer has said he deeply appreciates the efforts made by the State Branch and all the District Branches of the Red Cross in mobilizing resources and undertaking various activities in the areas of Blood Donation, First Aid Training, Disaster Management and Special Health Camps, specially the services provided Red Cross Volunteers in providing relief to the victims during the recent floods to Godavari and Krishna rivers. The Governor said initiatives like Thalassemia Blood Transfusion Centres should be expanded alongside Red Cross Blood Banks and reach out to the poor children suffering with Thalassemia and Sickle Cell anaemia, throughout the State, in a phased manner.

Governor Sri Abdul Nazeer has congratulated Sri KVN Chakradhar, Managing Director, AP Genco, Dr. G. Gireesha, District Collectors, NTR District, Sri Swapnil Dinkar Pundkar, District Collector, Srikakulam, and other Awardees, who have mobilized resources for the AP Red Cross through Membership and General Donations and the District Branches, who received the Awards in the programme for their best performance in different parameters and wished that they will continue to be a role model for other District Branches to emulate.
Earlier the Annual General Meeting of the Red Cross has approved the Annual Reports, and Audit Reports for the Years 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 and Budget Estimates for 2025-26.

Shri Y.D. Rama Rao, Chairman, Shri Ashwini Kumar Parida, General Secretary & Chief Executive Officer, Shri P. Jagan Mohan Rao,Vice- Chairman, Shri P. Ramachandra Raju, Treasurer of the Indian Red Cross Society, Andhra Pradesh State Branch, Dr. M Hari Jawaharlal, Ex-Officio Secretary to Governor, District Collectors, Awardees, Chairpersons of District Branches, Red Cross Volunteers and other dignitaries attended the meeting.
