– More than 100% utilisation registered in Vande Bharat Express from Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam and back.

The regular train service of Vande Bharat Express operating between Secunderabad & Visakhapatnam, which was recently flagged off by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, has evoked huge response from the rail passengers. This is reflected in the occupancy ratio for the first three days of regular service of the train, which has consistently witnessed full capacity utilisation of more than 100%.
The regular services of the train have been started from 16th January, 2023 for which bookings were opened only on 14th January 2023. In spite of it, the train has witnessed huge patronage from rail passengers for the first three days:
• For the journey between Visakhapatnam to Secunderabad, the average occupancy for the first three days (16th, 17th and 18th January 2023) is: 99%, 144% and 149%.
• Similarly, for the journey between Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam, the average occupancy for the first three days (16th, 17th and 18th January 2023) is: 122%, 147% and 117%.
• Here, it may be mentioned that, the occupancy given for the third day i.e., 18th January 2023 is only tentative as it is taken at the time of charting at initial stations. The final occupancy ratio will be higher at the end of the journey after taking into account current bookings.
The train consists of 14 AC Chair Car Coaches and 02 Executive AC Chair Car Coaches with the capacity of 1024 and 104 seats respectively totalling to 1128. This train is fast becoming the most preferred option for day journey travel between the two stations as well as for intermediate stations viz., Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada and Rajahmundry.
Out of the several trains that are available between Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam, Vande Bharat Express is the fastest travelling option covering the distance between the two stations in a short span of only eight and half hours. More importantly, the train is being operated at convenient timings suitable to the people who travel frequently during day times and that too in short notice.
The train is manufactured with pure indigenous technology equipped with modern features and enhanced comforts on par with air travel. The train has automatic sliding doors, provided with reclining seats in all classes and rotating seats in Executive class. Emergency alarm button and emergency talk back units have been provided through which passengers can talk with crew in case of exigent situations. CCTV cameras are equipped in all coaches for safe and secure travel. It provides safe, convenient and comfortable day journey travel for the people travelling between Telugu States.
