-Australian Government signs four MoUs with AP Government covering covering clean energy, advanced manufacturing, inclusive education, student mental health and skill development

An Australian delegation led by assistant Minister for International Education and assistant Minister for Citizenship, Customs and Multicultural Affairs Julian Hill met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at camp office here. During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s rapid economic transformation, development initiatives and the state’s vast opportunities for investment, innovation and international collaboration.The Chief Minister felicitated Assistant Minister Julian Hill with a traditional shawl and presented him with Araku Coffee and a commemorative memento.
It may be noted that Andhra Pradesh and Australia have entered a new phase of strategic cooperation with the signing of four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering clean energy, advanced manufacturing, inclusive education, student mental health and skill development.
The MoUs were signed in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh and Australia’s Assistant Minister Julian Hill.
The four MoUs include:
Centre of Excellence for Solar Manufacturing at IIT Tirupati
The Government of Andhra Pradesh’s Centre of Excellence for Energy Transition (CoEET), Visakhapatnam, IIT Tirupati and the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney have entered into a landmark partnership to establish a Centre of Excellence for Solar Manufacturing at IIT Tirupati.The initiative aims to position Andhra Pradesh as India’s leading hub for solar manufacturing research, innovation, skill development and technology commercialisation.
Strengthening Inclusive Education
A second MoU was signed between the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) and Samagra Shiksha, Andhra Pradesh to strengthen inclusive education across the state.The partnership seeks to enhance teachers’ capacity to effectively educate children with autism and other neurodiverse learning needs.
Pilot Programme for Student Mental Health
Under the third MoU, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) and Australia’s Rebound will jointly implement a technology-enabled pilot project to support student mental health and overall well-being across selected higher education institutions in the state. The pilot programme will be implemented free of cost for participating institutions.
MoU with DLS for Skill Development and Global Employability
The fourth MoU was signed between the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) and Australia’s Dynamic Learning Services (DLS) to collaborate in vocational education, workforce development, industry-aligned training and international employment pathways.
