Government departments told to actively participate in Energy conservation week celebrations

-State to Observe Energy Conservation Week from 14th to 20th December-2021
-Ensure Maximum participation in National Energy Conservation Week (NECW) Celebrations
-Secretary Energy directs APSECM to actively co-ordinate with DISCOMs and other govt. depts

The State government is going to involve various key government departments such as Industries, School education, Housing, Municipal, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development and DISCOMs etc as part of National energy conservation week in the state that will be held from December 14 to 20. The Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM, AP Energy department) is coordinating with all govt. depts for making the National Energy Conservation Week a grand success as per the directions of state govt.
During the review with APSECM officials on the Energy Conservation week preparations at Vidyut Soudha, the Secretary for energy Srikant Nagulapalli directed APSECM officials to make all necessary arrangements and actively co-ordinate with DISCOMs and other govt. depts and ensure utmost participation of general public and other stakeholders in this week through conduct of various innovative awareness programs like webinars on different themes of energy conservation/energy efficiency programs and involve maximum participants in more effective manner.
As part of efforts to create awareness among the general public, the state government has asked APSECM, energy department to take measures for involving all the categories of consumers in energy conservation week celebrations, said secretary. He asked SECM officials to ensure that all the government departments involve and promote energy efficiency activities in their respective departments that would help for creating awareness among employees/Stakeholders and motivate general public as well. The Government emphasized the need for all the depts to inculcate energy efficiency culture in their respective departments and become exemplary to the common man to motivate them to be more energy efficiency conscious.
The Secretary thanked Bureau of Energy Efficiency, GoI for its full support to APSECM by providing technical and financial support for making energy conservation and energy efficiency programs successful in the State.
He said the objective of the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is to achieve cost effective power in the State that may be fulfilled with various best practices in power sector including implementation of energy conservation and energy efficiency. Even the common consumer in the State, local bodies and government institutions would get benefit with the measures of energy conservation and energy efficiency apart from protecting the environment. He re-iterated that all the district collectors are already requested for active participation in Energy Conservation week and once again requested them to make the program a huge success.
APSECM officials explained secretary about various programs planed in the Energy Conservation and submitted day wise action plan. As part of EC week, the APSECM has planned to conduct Energy Conservation rally, nationwide webinar/workshop on IoT technology in MSME Sector, Webinar on E Vehicles, webinar/workshop on ECBC, workshop involving women, conducting webinar/workshop on PAT, DSM and concluding with a valedictory function of State Energy Conservation Award-2021
