All set for Prime Minister’s address in Vizag for Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya celebrations

-Prime Minister to address the electricity consumers of Visakhapatnam on July 30 through videoconference to explain the achievements in power sector along with the vision of nation in this sector
-Andhra Pradesh government will organize the celebrations from July 25 to 31 in all districts
-Energy minister asks officials to take the event very prestigious and ensure maximum participation from the public for the event
-celebrations are aimed to showcase the achievements in energy sector, especially in renewable energy sector
-Prime Minister will interact with beneficiaries of various electricity schemes through video conference
-Special CS energy explained the minister that all the arrangements are in place for the prime minister’s address at vizag and also to launch the week long celebrations
-The state government had attached high priority to the energy sector
-Government has already introduced Renewable Export Policy’ for large scale promotion of renewable energy projects for export of power
-The nodal officers are coordinating with all district collectors and other official missionary for making the celebrations a grand success

Recognizing the best performance of AP Power sector and effective implementation of various electricity schemes of Govt. of India, the union ministry of power had selected Visakhapatnam to organize “Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavisya, Power @2047 event on July 30 in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the electricity consumers of Visakhapatnam through videoconference to explain the achievements in power sector along with the vision of nation in this sector.
The Andhra Pradesh government will organize the Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavisya celebrations from July 25 to 31 in all districts in the State as part of azadi ka amrut mahotsav being conducted across the country. As per Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the electricity consumers in Visakhapatnam on July 30 as part of the celebrations.
The Secretary, Power, GoI, Alok kumar has already communicated to chief secretaries of all States including Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary , Dr Sameer Sharma requesting to support and involve energy department, district collectors and all the stakeholders in making the event memorable in the years to come. The Ministry of power, GoI has nominated Piyush Singh, joint secretary, MoP exclusively to oversee and review the arrangements of prime minters video conference in vizag. The director general BEE, Abhay Bakre is continously pursuing with state government as well as state designated agencies(SDAs) with regard to organizing of the event.
The state government has already appointed special chief secretary for energy K Vijayanand as state nodal officer for the celebrations. Chief secretary Sameer Sharma has requested all the district collectors and other stakeholders to take all necessary steps to make the events successful.
The state energy department along with national organizations like Bureau of Energy Efficiency(BEE), National Thermal Power Corporation(NTPC), Power Grid Corporation of India Limited(PGCIL), Rural Electrification Corporation REC has selected locations to organize the celebrations and made arrangements to display exhibition and short video films on universal access and household integration, one nation-one grid, renewable energy etc.
As per BEE & REC, The Prime Minister will interact with beneficiaries of various electricity schemes through video conference and explain about the vision of the government in power sector by 2047 where the country completes 100 years of independence.
During a virtual review meeting chaired by Energy Minister PeddiReddi Ramachandra Reddy on the arrangements for the celebrations, he directed the officials to be alert and make fool proof arrangements without any infrastructure and connectivity issues for the Prime Minister’s address to electricity consumers. He said that the state government had made successful all the central government schemes in power sector including Integrated Power Development System, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), village electrification etc.
He further said that the state government had attached high priority to the energy sector and taken concrete steps to strengthen the sector both operationally and financially. “Thanks to the foresight of the Chief Minister of AP, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the state government has entered into agreement with SECI for getting 7000 MW to feed exclusively for agriculture for the next 25 years with the support of the Govt. of India” said minister. The SECI will start supply of solar power to the tune of 3000 MW from September 2024 in first tranche, 3000 MW from September 2025 in second tranche and 1000 MW from sep-2026 in the third tranche.
As part of promoting renewable energy in the state in a big way, the state government has planned to construct 29 pumped storage hydro power (PSP) projects with a capacity of 33,240 MW in all districts of the state keeping the future energy demand in mind. The government has already introduced Renewable Export Policy’ for large scale promotion of renewable energy projects for export of power to outside the State.
The state government has provided funds to the tune of around Rs.1700 crs for segregation of agricultural feeders which will help to supply 9 hours day time free power with high quality to agricultural connections. The government has provided financial support to the power utilities to the tune of Rs. 34000 crore to rescue the DISCOMS
The special chief secretary of energy department K Vijayanand explained the minister that all the arrangements are in place for the prime minister’s address at vizag and also to launch the week long celebrations.
The superintending engineers of Kurnool, Ananthapur, East Godavari, Nellore and Visakhapatnam in co-ordination with AP State Energy Conservation Mission are ready with all necessary resources in each and every aspect in the selected two locations of each district where the mahotsav would be celebrated. The events to be conducted in the remaining districts of AP were assigned to REC (4 districts), NTPC (12 districts) and PGCIL (5 districts).
Officials explained that, as part of preparatory activities, the chief guest and public representatives including MPs, MLAs, MLCs etc were already invited for the program.
